The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in McLennan County will host a two-day food manager certification training on Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 in Waco. The program will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office, 4224 Cobbs Drive, Waco. Registration is $125 and includes course materials and the opportunity to take the certification exam.

The city of Waco, Texas, got a spruced up youth ballfield yesterday, thanks to Fixer Upper host and Magnolia cofounder Chip Gaines and Bobcat Company. Chip is a huge baseball fan, passionate supporter of youth sports and an advocate for all kids having access to safe, upgraded youth sports and play spaces. WACO, Texas — The Waco Animal Shelter is having another round of Empty The Shelters National Adoption Event through Wednesday, July 31. Dogs and cats over 1-year-old are free to adopt while puppies and kittens under 1-year-old are $50. Normally, the pets over the age of 1 are $70 and $100 for those under 1.
