Huntsville enters agreement with company to provide buses for city’s transit
HUNTSVILLE — The Rocket City’s vision of increased public transportation received a boost Thursday when Huntsville agreed to purchase four buses from Gillig. The one-year, $2.45 million contract allows for the purchase of four diesel or hybrid/diesel buses each year with the option of two one-year renewable contracts. The Federal Transit Administration will be paying 80% of the cost with Huntsville funding the remainder.
