It's Time to Race

Next weekend, June 15-16, the North American Enduro Cup will descend on Silver Mountain, in Kellogg, Idaho. It's one of our favorite events of the year. Two days of rugged racing on brand-new fresh-cut trails, and some old classics. It's brutal, challenging, and a whole bunch of fun.

It's hard physically, but also emotionally. Long descents, long transfers, and big mountains mean that it's often as much a competition with yourself as it is with your other racers.

That's why we're teaming up with 5-hour Energy to reward the spectators who help bring the energy up over a long race day. There's nothing like cresting a grueling climb, or greasing a techy section with a loud, engaged audience cheering you on.

A Prize for the Spectators

Without the fans, bike racing is just a bunch of dorks in silly clothes mouth breathing in the woods. Cheering, heckling, offering (un)helpful advice on line choice - the fans are the soul of any event. But too often, the spectacle is their only reward. Until now. We’ll be celebrating the most dedicated, loudest, most committed spectator at the NAEC with the all-new “Main Character of the Race” award presented by 5 Hour Energy and Bike Mag.

Show up, in costume, with your loudest heckling accessories and keep the energy high all race weekend. We’ll be roaming the course Saturday and Sunday, handing out noise makers, stickers, and cash prizes to the best hecklers. We’ll also be crowning a “Main Character of the Race” who will win the coveted GOLDEN CHAINSAW and a fat envelope of cash. Bring your most outrageous costume, it’s going to get wild.

Remember, heckling should add to the race experience, not detract from it. Stay out of the way of racers, keep it positive, and stick around to cheer ALL the racers on.

Important Details

Discounted lift tickets are available for spectators participating in this challenge. Come by the registration table in costume to get your ticket! We’ll also have a map of the best heckle zones for spectators.

Show up, blow it out, and make some noise for the racers!
