Travis Scott was arrested at a Paris hotel on Friday (August 9) after reportedly getting into a fight with a security guard. According to the Associated Press , a statement from the Paris public prosecutor’s office said the arrest happened after police were summoned to the Georges V hotel early Friday morning to arrest a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard.”

Officials said the hotel security guard had attempted to intervene in an altercation between Scott (born Jacques Bermon Webster II), 33, and his personal bodyguard in the early morning hours. The Paris police are still investigating the incident and at press time it was unknown if Scott was still in police custody and what sanction he might face in the incident.

A statement from a representative for Scott shared with Billboard on Friday morning said, “we are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.”

Scott was in Paris for the Olympics and was spotted at the U.S. men’s basketball game, where All-stars Steph Curry and LeBron James helped lead the veteran team to a thrilling come-from-behind win against Serbia to punch the team’s ticket to Saturday’s final against France.

At press time it did not appear that Scott had commented on the arrest, though he did post two tweets about the basketball semi-final, writing “That game was f–king wilddddddd ” and, earlier, “Some body tell @KingJames I need Olympic jerzzzz .”

Ten-time Grammy-nominee Scott was arrested in Miami in June for disorderly intoxication and trespassing. According to an arrest affidavit, Scott was booked into Miami-Dade County jail after his early-morning arrest for allegedly getting into a dispute with another crew on a charter boat. When police were called to the scene, Scott was asked to leave, and did, but then continued to yell at the crew on the yacht. The officers, who could reportedly sense a “strong smell of alcohol” on Scott’s breath, said he returned a few minutes later and allegedly began yelling at the crew again despite police telling him not to approach the boat, which led to his detainment.
