    2 Teens Charged With Murder In Killing Of High School Football Player

    A shooting left an Alabama high school football player dead and another teen injured, per AL.com .

    16-year-old Javion Gray , a student at Loachapoka High School, was found dead last week following a shooting in Notasulga, Alabama. A second student, a 17-year-old teenager, was also injured in the shooting and hospitalized. The 17-year-old reportedly sustained a wound to the foot.

    On Monday (August 12), 18-year-olds Elijah Rogers and Barthonia Howard were arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection to the shooting.

    Gray's high school football coach, Branden Hall , confirmed his death in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

    "I love you Gary!! You always had a smile on your face and you always made me smile! Keep smiling down on us! We won’t ever forget you. Til I see you again keep making them laugh," Hall captioned a photo of Gray.

    According to reports, Rogers and Howard were booked without bond into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. The 18-year-olds are set to be tried as adults.
