'Good Times' Actress Betty A. Bridges Dead At 83

Actress Betty A. Bridges , best known for her roles in ER , 2 Broke Girls , and Good Times , has died, per Deadline . She was 83.

On Tuesday (August 27), Bridges died in Phoenix at the home of her son, Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges . She was reportedly in hospice care at Todd's home when she died.

Todd confirmed his mother's death in multiple tribute posts on Instagram .

“1941 - 2024 Betty Bridges,” the Diff'rent Strokes star captioned a photo of Betty.

Lenny Kravitz and Yvette Nicole Brown were among the celebrities who shared their condolences.

"Rest in power Queen," Kravitz commented on Todd's post. "Oh Todd, I’m so sorry for your loss! ❤️🕊️," Nicole Brown wrote.

Betty is credited for her roles in Good Times , ER , and 2 Broke Girls along with the Police Woman , Mary Hartman , and Charlie’s Angels . She also appeared in Quincy M.E , Diff'rent Strokes , and Wonder Woman .

Betty also had a career as a Hollywood manager and acting coach. She co-founded acting school Kane Bridge Academy and ran classes out of her home in Los Angeles. Nia Long , Sanaa Lathan , and sisters Regina and Reina King were among her students, per Deadline.

The actress is survived by her sons, Todd, who played Willis Jackson on Diff'rent Strokes , Jimmy Bridges , and Zerondrick Hubbard , her daughter, Verda Bridges Prpich , and 12 grandchildren.
