    Drug and weapons bust in Binghamton

    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Two people were taken into custody on Wednesday after investigators located multiple firearms and narcotics in a City of Binghamton apartment.

    On June 26, members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Taskforce, along with the Binghamton Police Community Response team and members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 11 Edwards Street first floor and second floor apartments.

    As a result of the search warrant, investigators located the following items:

    • A loaded .9mm caliber handgun
    • A loaded .380 caliber handgun
    • A loaded .22 caliber rifle
    • A loaded 7.62 x 39mm AK47 rifle
    • Ammunition for the firearms
    • Approximately 64 grams (2.25 ounces) of fentanyl
    • Approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine
    • $2,849 of suspects drug proceeds
    • Items used for packaging and weighing narcotics

    As a result of the investigation, Trenton Slezak, 27, and Michael Dickson, 63, were arrested and transported to the Binghamton Police Department.

    Slezak was charged with the following:

    • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
    • Five counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
    • Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth degree
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
    • Two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second degree

    Dickson was charged with:

    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
    • Two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

    The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is comprised of members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department, and the Village of Johnson City Police Department.
