BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — Some of the Downtown Binghamton streets are closed for the weekend to setup and prepare for the annual July Festival.

The 59th annual July Fest and Binghamton Music and Jazz Festival will span the area of Court Street and the Metro Center Plaza. Dozens of vendors will line the streets selling art and festival foods, while a long list of musical guests will perform live.

The music director for the festival, Mike Carbone says year’s festival will have a genre for everyone, including pop, bluegrass, jazz and the blues. The coordinator of the festival, Ron Sall says parking in any of the Binghamton parking garages or flat lots will be free throughout the weekend.

“You can see behind me they’re setting up the stage. We have a terrific lineup of bands Friday and Saturday night, between Splash and a group out of Rochester, a big horn group. A lot of good music. We have salsa music on Sunday, and we have artists, and we have craft vendors and we have all of these nice restaurants and places downtown,” Sall said.

July Fest kicks off at 10 a.m. tomorrow with arts and crafts, with music beginning at noon until closing at 11 p.m. On Saturday the fest runs from 10 AM to 10 PM and from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.
