    Binghamton drug bust leads to the arrest of 2

    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Two people were arrested on several drug charges following a search warrant at a Binghamton apartment.

    On July 17, members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at 11 Truesdell Street, 2nd Floor apartment. As a result of the search warrant, investigators located the following items:

    • Approximately 73.28 grams (2.5 ounces) of methamphetamine
    • Approximately 35.97 grams of cocaine
    • Approximately 9.3 grams of fentanyl
    • 52 Suboxone sublingual films
    • 25 illegally possessed prescription pills
    • $1,019 in suspected drug proceeds
    • Items used for weighing and packaging narcotics

    Following the investigation, Stacy Nelson, 52, and Lionell Moron, 44, were arrested and transported to the Binghamton Police Department. They were processed on the following charges:

    Nelson charges:

    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second degree
    • Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth degree
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree
    • Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
    • Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia Second Degree

    Moton charges:

    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree
    • Five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
    • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree
    • Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
    • Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

    The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is comprised of members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department, and the Village of Johnson City Police Department. The Binghamton Police Community Response Team assisted in this investigation.
