The Swedish band ABBA won the Eurovision competition 50 years ago, and to mark the anniversary, the Bishop Hill Heritage Association is hosting an ABBA tribute band on Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. in the village park in Bishop Hill. DANCING QUEEN: An ABBA Salute is packed with musical hits, fabulous flair and fashion. The group is the #1 ABBA tribute band in the Midwest and features over 30 all-time favorite hits, like “Waterloo” to “Mamma Mia”, “SOS” to “Knowing Me Knowing You,” “Honey Honey” to “Voulez-Vous.”

Food and drinks will be available during the show. In addition to the village’s three restaurants and a bakery, the Bishop Hill Old Settlers’ Association is hosting a hot dog stand, next to the Colony Store. The Bishop Hill Methodist Church is having a bake sale next to the Steeple Building Museum. Food trucks from Henn House BBQ and Azteca will be between the Prairie Arts Center and the Post Office on Christina Street, across from the park.

The Dancing Queen concert is free and open to the public. Golf carts will be on hand to take people to the park. Visitors are asked to bring lawn chairs.
