BISMARCK N.D.– The 2024 Junior Nationals in wrestling wrap up today in the Fargodome. The Junior Nationals hosts the best junior wrestling talent from around the country. This year, one of those wrestlers representing North Dakota is Bismarck Legacy’s Nicolas Enzminger.

Enzminger is at Junior Nationals for the second straight year, and he says this is an important experience that he can use to get better in the summer because he’s facing elite competition.

“Fargo’s been good, it’s been a good experience. A lot better than last year, taking more wins. But it’s always a good experience, it’s good to learn here in the summer, because it’s a lot of time to fix changes and make corrections,” Enzminger said. “it’s a great tournament with a lot of good people from across the country, so it exposes a lot of your weak points and mistakes you might make, or maybe things you might get on lesser competition and corrects it for you. So it points all that stuff out, and it makes you a better wrestler overall, and that’s the main goal.”

Enzminger was beaten 11-0 in the round of 16 in the Junior men’s freestyle by Illinois representative Caleb Noble, but Enzminger won the championship bout in the Junior men’s greco-roman against Ezekiel Witt.
