(Bemidji, MN) — This year’s National Night Out Event for Beltrami County is this evening. There will be free food, games, and an opportunity to meet and engage with first responders from the Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Community Resources Connections, United Way, and Headwaters Regional Development Commission. This is a family friendly event in the field between the Boys & Girls Club and J.W. Smith Elementary in Bemidji from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. this evening.

Minnesota National Guard’s 204th Medical Company Area Support Departs for Deployment Thursday Evening
(KNSI) — Over 50 Soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard’s 204th Medical Company Area Support (MCAS) are deploying to the Middle East today. The 204th MCAS delivers medical support, from basic first aid to advanced care, such as combat lifesavers with emergency medical technician level training, plus physicians and physician assistants. They conduct initial medical treatment such as first aid and lifesaving procedures provided to personnel immediately after an injury or illness and focus on either stabilizing them for evacuation or returning them to duty. The unit offers disease and nonbattle injury prevention, combat stress support to manage psychological impacts, and casualty collection and evacuation for further treatment. They support medical facilities utilizing more advanced services and include the evacuation of patients, initial resuscitation and emergency care, dental services, and laboratory and X-ray capabilities for diagnostic purposes.

Search to resume for Minnesota teen missing in Lake Michigan
BEVERLY SHORES, Indiana — Search efforts are resuming on Lake Michigan Thursday after a Minnesota teen disappeared below the surface while swimming. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said conservation officers were deployed Tuesday afternoon along with first responders from a number of agencies, after reports of swimmers in distress off the shore of Beverly Shores. Arriving responders found two swimmers and a good Samaritan onshore and in need of medical attention. Those three individuals were transported to a local hospital and are reported in stable condition.
