Government offices closed for July 4; trash services, public transit affected for some cities

(KMIZ) State, city and county offices will be closed Thursday in observance of the holiday and additional closures will occur on Friday for some offices. Gov. City of Slater receives grant to improve drinking water facilities
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources gave a $37,500 grant to the city of Slater to improve its drinking water system, according to a Monday news release. Through its Drinking Water Engineering Report grant program, the agency hopes to deliver better safe drinking water to the area by raising the quality of the treatments, according to the news release.
