Big Lots plans to close one Grand Rapids area store
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Discount retailer Big Lots plans to close its store at 4254 28th St. SE in the suburb of Kentwood. The company, which is based in Columbus, Ohio, and operates about 1,400 stores in 48 states, has a notice on its website for the Kentwood location stating that the location is closing, and that savings of up to 20% are available on inventory.

Muskegon police given 10 microchip scanners to reunite pets with owners
MUSKEGON, MI - Ten microchip scanners were donated to the Muskegon Police Department by a local animal nonprofit in hopes of reuniting more lost pets with their owners sooner.
