MEDC | Crowdfunding Campaign Launched for NE GR Public Art
LANSING, Mich. – The Neighbors of Belknap Lookout and Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts are collaborating on a series of new public art initiatives on Grand Rapids' North side through the anticipated success of a crowdfunding campaign. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the local nonprofit Neighbors of Belknap Lookout announced the campaign today, which is being offered through the Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity.
Man killed in ‘broad daylight’ at crowded Kalamazoo apartment complex
KALAMAZOO, MI -- A man has died after being shot yesterday in Kalamazoo, police said. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety announced that a shooting on Wednesday, July 24, at Fox Ridge Apartments is now classified as a homicide. The victim, 30-year-old Charles Lee Weir, died from injuries suffered in the shooting, police said on Thursday, July 25.
