CHESTER – Assemblyman Brian Maher (R, Walden) describes 5-year-old Lilly Fernandez as a fun and spunky girl who has a love for music, singing, and dancing. Fernandez’s story resonates with Maher so much because the little girl reminds him of his daughter. Young Lilly was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in March and Maher has organized a team to support the Fernandez family, which includes fundraising. Professor Coleen Edwards Leads New York Sea Grant Plankton Workshop for Teachers
Coleen Edwards, a faculty fellow in biology and environmental sciences at Niagara University, hosted a professional development workshop sponsored by the New York Sea Grant and the Center for Great Lakes Literacy.
