Christie Sides Hinted At Significant Indiana Fever Roster Change

On Tuesday, July 2, at 9:30 p.m. ET, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will battle A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces. This will be the second matchup between these two teams, with the Aces taking the first game back in May.

Just before the game, a photograph from the Fever's Monday practice session made its way online. It was noticeable that Kristy Wallace, the starting guard for the Fever, was not wearing the starter jersey during the practice.

The available information suggested that Indiana head coach Christie Sides may be considering changing the team's lineup for their upcoming game against the Aces.

Wallace, a 5-foot-11 guard from Baylor, has started in 19 of the Fever's 20 games this season. In 20.6 minutes per game, Wallace has averaged 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

Further evidence of a starting lineup change surfaced when a video of Katie Lou Samuelson wearing the blue starter jersey and practicing with the first team was posted on social media.

In Samuelson's first season with the Fever, the 6-foot-3 forward has come off the bench for 75% of Indiana's games. She is averaging 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, she played five key minutes and helped ignite a 14-8 Fever run.

During Tuesday's media availability, Sides addressed the lineup change rumors, saying they are trying out new things.

"We're just trying out some different things," Sides said (via IndyStar Sports writer Chloe Peterson).

Will we see Samuelson replace Wallace in the starting lineup on Tuesday night? Or does Sides have a different change in mind?
