    Snider grad Swanson transfers to IU baseball

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – After starting his college baseball career in his home town, Deron Swanson is singing his swan song in Bloomington.

    On Friday, former Snider and Saint Francis pitcher Deron Swanson announced he is transferring to IU. Swanson will have one year of eligibility left with the Hoosiers.

    The lefty enjoyed his best year yet this spring with the Cougars. Swanson went 10-2 on the bump with a season-best 2.65 ERA. He also struck out a season-best 68 batters while allowing a season-low 22 earned runs. As a team, Saint Francis enjoyed their best season in program history with a 40-19 record and their first appearance in the NAIA Tournament.
