Interview: Caitlin Clark Stays Grounded During The Caitlin Clark-Mania

The Indiana Fever’s season has passed the halfway point of the season and is about to hit the Olympic break in the schedule.  It’s been a wild first few months for Caitlin Clark, who went from leading Iowa to the national championship game to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft to a rookie campaign with the Indiana Fever that has gotten better and better, her most recent game ending with her becoming the first-ever WNBA rookie to record a triple-double.

Caitlin Clark sat down with The Wake-Up Call ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Washington Mystics to discuss the hectic nature of her rookie season and how she stays grounded during the Caitlin Clark-mania across the country.

It’s been insane.  I haven’t really had time to reflect, I’ll probably save that for the off-season.  I wish I could go back in time and relive it through a different perspective, watching from a bird’s eye view. – Caitlin Clark on the chaotic last few months

Clark also discussed whether or not if she was “pissed” about being left off the Olympic team, the biggest differences from college to the pros, the early losses to start the Fever season, where she sees the Fever season at this point and her elite babysitting skills.

Once we actually had some time to rest and practice you saw a much better product on the court.  I think we started 1-8 and since then we’ve been pretty good. It seems like night and day and we’re only at the halfway point so I think there’s so much room for us to get better. – Caitlin Clark on the Fever rebounding from their slow start to the season
