(WXIN/WTTV) — A recent study of the top 100 places to live in the United States includes three central Indiana cities, with one Indy suburb taking home the top prize of most liveable U.S. city.

The Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. is an annual survey conducted by Livability that explores and researches small-to-medium-sized city data to curate a list of 100 cities it ranks as “best” places to live in the U.S.

In total, three cities in central Indiana made the list:

Known for its top-rated schools, thriving arts scene and tight-knit community, Carmel scored an 875 “Livscore” – the highest of any city in the country.

Also in Hamilton County, Fishers finished fourth with a Livscore of 864. Meanwhile, Bloomington posted a score of 733.

Livability said scores were based on nearly 100 data points measuring a city’s economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health.
