HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Authorities say a call reporting a Bloomington, Indiana, man for refusing to let a woman leave his car in Evansville has resulted in multiple charges, including confinement and manufacturing methamphetamine.

According to an affidavit, deputies were dispatched to Highway 41 and Hillsdale Road in February, after a caller reported that Charles Jones Jr., 44, was refusing to let her leave a vehicle. The caller also reportedly said Jones had hit her and that he had a handgun despite the fact that he is a convicted felon.

Upon arrival, authorities spoke with the caller, who said Jones had driven to Nashville to pick up illegal narcotics. The caller told authorities that Jones stopped the vehicle and took a lock box containing a gun out of the vehicle before he began walking down Hillsdale Road.

While searching the area, authorities say they found a box in the 700 block of Hillsdale Road. The affidavit says detectives found a knife, a gun and two plastic corner bags containing 10 grams each of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Jones was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of confinement, dealing a narcotic drug, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
