    Man charged with multiple counts of resisting arrest

    BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested in Bloomsburg after resisting arrest multiple times from previous charges.

    According to the Bloomsburg Police Department, Lee Atkinson Jr., 42, of Bloomsburg, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Man wanted for allegedly threatening to shoot four men

    The officer on duty attempted to take Atkinson into custody when he allegedly resisted and attempted to flee the scene by striking the officer.

    Allegedly, the officer on duty sustained only minor injuries. Atkinson was treated at the Bloomsburg Geisinger ER and was released.

    Bloomsburg Police searched Atkinson’s backpack which revealed controlled substances and paraphernalia.

    Atkinson will be arraigned at a later date.
