Adalberto Morales Cintron, 39, pleaded guilty on June 14 to felony kidnapping and strangulation charges. The other charges against him were dismissed.

Court records state that Morales Cintron was sentenced to an agreed-upon sentence of six to nine years in prison. He was given credit for the 195 days he was in custody during the court proceedings after his bond was revoked for breaking an order barring him from contacting the victim.

The charges against Morales Cintron stemmed from an incident at an apartment on Southern Boulevard in Boardman last July. Police said he hit and strangled a woman, who was bleeding from the mouth and had visible bruises when officers arrived.

As part of his sentence, Morales Cintron was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
