According to a police report, the victim was making a purchase at the register of a retailer in the mall when she noticed that the male suspect was lingering around a lanyard display, which was behind the victim and her children.

The suspect began asking the sales clerk for help finding a particular sports team’s lanyard while the victim was trying to pay.

Shortly after, the suspect dropped an unknown item on the floor to the right of where the victim was standing. The victim looked over and saw the man holding his cell phone with the camera lens facing upwards and angled towards her.

The suspect said “Oh, I’m sorry” and continued to look at the lanyard display when the victim left.

The woman called her husband and then police to file a report.

The incident is under investigation and surveillance video is being reviewed.

    No arrests have been made.
