Impacts of inflation still being felt by Beaufort businesses
BEAUFORT —While inflation is down across the board nationwide, the effects of its surge since 2022 are still being felt locally and beyond. Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports inflation was down to 3% in June, matching the same figure in June of 2023. The stability over the last year comes in the wake of a historic spike to 9.1% in June 2022 amid the COVID pandemic.
Grocery chain recalling dessert over allergy concern
Supermarket chain Wegmans is recalling its gluten-free carrot cake slices because they were mislabeled as gluten-free chocolate cake slices. Nipro Medical Corp. to build $398M North Carolina plant
Medical device maker Nipro Medical Corp. is building a $397.8 million facility in Greenville, North Carolina, Gov. Roy Cooper stated in a July 17 press release.
