A Florida-based real estate company announced plans last year to build a $40 million, 44-acre shopping center on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Located across from Lowe's and Ollie's Bargain Outlet, Rob Tanner, owner of developer Impeccable Development told The Fayetteville Observer in October that a big-box retailer is slated to take the 147,583-square-foot anchor store at the new shopping center.

A housing trend that is growing in popularity across the nation could soon come to Brunswick County. In July, the Brunswick County Planning Board considered and approved a text amendment to its Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), a document that guides development in the county. The amendment makes way for the construction of casitas, or small house-like structures, to be built on recreational vehicle (RV) lots in outdoor RV resorts in the county.

Autumn Oxley Crittendon died July 20 at her home in Henrico at the age of 27, following reports of a medical emergency for which Henrico Fire and EMS officials had been called. New Amazon facility opens in Fayetteville
The giant new Amazon Fulfillment Center near Fort Liberty is starting to show signs of life.
