Dogs captured after killing woman in West Tennessee, police say
BOLIVAR, Tenn. - A woman was killed by dogs in a West Tennessee city early Monday morning, according to the Bolivar Police Department (BPD). The mauling happened just after 1:30 a.m. Monday near Sycamore View Street and Mitchell Street. When officers arrived, 61-year-old Theresa Rhodes was bleeding in the middle of the street, BPD said. Two dogs were in the area and officers said that Rhodes had "extensive injuries sustained from a dog attack."

People can face harsher penalties for assaulting law enforcement officers after new law goes into effect in TN
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A new law passed by the legislature makes it a Class E felony to assault law enforcement officers. People convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers would be required to pay $10,000 and face a minimum sentence of 60 days in prison. It's named the "Back the Blue Act."
