Amber Alert issued for toddler taken from Kansas City, Mo. home
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - At 5:49 pm, the Kansas City Police Department provided the following information to the KBI:On 07-17-2024 at approximately 1:30 pm, Jaxon Halley and his mother were forcibly taken at gunpoint by the suspect during a domestic incident at their home. The child and the mother were driven into Missouri where the mother escaped from the suspect at around 3:28 pm.
Investigation underway after body found floating in Missouri River
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An investigation is underway after a body was found floating in the Missouri River. A spokesperson for the Kansas City Fire Department said KCFD was called to the Missouri River at 6:20 p.m. Monday after receiving a call about a body floating in the river. When firefighters arrived at the riverfront boat ramp KCFD “quickly spotted” the body.
Man suspected of causing disturbance at Kansas City QuikTrip becomes stuck in large tree
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man suspected of causing a disturbance at a gas station is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after falling out of a tree in Kansas City. Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called to a QuikTrip at 6551 East Front Street around 2:30 a.m. to investigate a man acting erratically inside the store.
Sheriff investigating death of Kansas teen in crash near lake
DOUGLAS COUNTY—A Kansas teen died in an accident near Clinton Lake in Douglas County. The victim of the crash has been identified as 17-year-old Brody Minton of Lawrence, according to a media release from the Douglas County Sheriff. Family members reported him missing on Monday and law enforcement had attempted to find him. Douglas County sheriff's deputies searched Monday and Tuesday searched extensively including the campgrounds at Clinton Lake and were working to locate his vehicle in the area.
