REGIONAL federal credit union: Prioritizing the member for 66 years and counting
REGIONAL federal credit union has committed itself to supporting its members in every aspect of their lives. It offers its members a wide variety of services, including a mobile wallet deposit system, debit and credit card options, and even youth services that enable young members to learn about finances and practice saving their money. REGIONAL has partnered with over 5,600 shared branch locations across the country, enabling its members to access their funds whether they're at home or on the road. It also offers several types of loans, which range from home equity and business loans to educator loans that support new teachers. The Fourth of July in the Lakes of Four Seasons (LOFS) is a major event. There is a parade, food trucks, bouncy houses, and a fireworks show to end the night. This year, the day started as early as attendees arrived at the clubhouse to reserve their spot to watch the parade. There are golf carts and tents that go as far as the eye can see from West to North Lakeshore Drive.

Crown Point Schools Community/Parent Tour Day
Crown Point Community School Corporation says it is hosting a district tour day for community members and parents on August 8. 2024, to see what’s new in Crown Point schools. An announcement from the school district said the tour will visit five sites, explore the $350 million in capital improvements throughout the buildings, and provide information about the district’s curriculum, programming, and student services. Valparaiso University Faculty Helping Future Photographers and Capturing the Story of a Local Community
It is a busy time of year for professor Aimee Tomasek M.F.A., associate professor with Valparaiso University’s Communications and Visual Arts department. With fair season underway, Professor Tomasek can be found crisscrossing country roads, making her way to the Porter County fair as she embarks on their 15th year working with 4-H Club members and chronicling the Indiana agricultural scene. Professor Tomasek, lovingly known as Aimee within the livestock and project barns, has worked with 4-H participants, ages 9 to 19, teaching, mentoring and capturing memories. This long term documentary project captures a variety of 4-H projects and Tomasek hopes it will serve as a pictorial archive of the Porter Co. 4-H community for future generations.

Fort Wayne, IN – Showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact Northern Indiana later today and continue through Wednesday. The US National Weather Service Northern Indiana reports that the best chances for severe weather will occur on Wednesday. Today’s high temperatures are forecasted to range between 79-85°F, with periodic showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 63-67°F with continued storm potential.
Indiana Man Injured in I-30 Shootout with Arkansas State Police
Hope, AR – An Indiana man was injured after allegedly fleeing from and firing on Arkansas State Police Troopers on Interstate 30 on Monday. According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident began at approximately 10:10 p.m. near the Hempstead/Nevada County line. Troopers pursued the suspect, identified as Joshua Harrison, 43, of Richmond, Indiana, who allegedly fired shots at them near the 36-mile marker. Troopers returned fire and performed a tactical vehicle intervention near the 35-mile marker, causing Harrison’s vehicle to cross the median and be struck by an eastbound tractor trailer.
