HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Emergency crews responded to a house fire in Boonville Saturday morning.

Warrick County dispatch confirmed the initial call came in at 8:27 a.m. regarding a house fire at the 2700 block of Lashbrook Road.

Deputies on scene confirm a passerby spotted smoke coming from house.

They say emergency crews shut down the road at New Hope for a moment, it is open now.

The Boonville Fire Department confirms no one was inside the residence at the time of the fire.

We’re told the Boonville Fire Department, Yankeetown Fire Department and Ohio Township Fire Department all aided in extinguishing the house fire.

Deputies believe that the fire started in the basement, although there is no cause at the moment.

The family was camping when the fire occurred and the house is expected to be a “total loss.”

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Indiana State Fire Marshal and we will update as we find out more information.
