Woman dies after being hit by 'multiple vehicles' on I-65 North in south Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman died Friday morning after being hit by multiple vehicles on Interstate 65 North at Outer Loop. Louisville Metro Police officers responded around 11:40 a.m. to find a woman lying in the road beneath the Outer Loop overpass. Spokesperson Aaron Ellis said she was hit by multiple vehicles.

Mosquitoes with West Nile virus found in 3 more Louisville zip codes, including downtown
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have now been found in six Louisville zip codes this year. The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness said in a news release Friday that the mosquitoes were found in the 40202, 40212 and 40215 zip codes. As a result, fogging will take place this week in downtown Louisville, the Portland neighborhood and the area around Churchill Downs.

Derby fuels record revenue for Churchill Downs in Q2
Churchill Downs Inc. posted a record of more than $890M in net revenue for the second quarter of the year after the “historical success” of the 150th Kentucky Derby, according to Olivia Evans of the Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL. Supported by a record $37.6M revenue increase during Derby week, this indicates Churchill Downs' “move to focus on a variety of gaming segments including brick-and-mortar gaming venues and online sports betting has proven fruitful.” The company saw its live and historical horseracing segment revenue increase 20% compared to the same quarter of last year.
