Southeast Portland parents lambast 'controversial development' of planned deflection center near preschool
PORTLAND, Ore. — On the corner of Southeast Pine Street and 11th Avenue in Portland’s Central Eastside sits a preschool, where David Watnick’s 1-year-old will start in September the same time Multnomah County will open its deflection center for people caught in possession of small amounts of hard drugs who choose treatment over jail time. Oregon high school football coach accused of slapping players appears in court
An Oregon high school coach who allegedly woke players up in the middle of the night during a team camp and began slapping them appeared in court on Wednesday. Jamal Jones, the 32-year-old former head coach of Westview High School (Portland, Ore.), appeared at Yamhill County Courtroom on 12 counts of misdemeanor harassment, according to KGW8.
