A man is dead following a shooting in Bossier City

A Bossier City man is dead after he was shot in the chest.

Bossier City Police Department reported that on Saturday, July 27, just before 7:20 p.m. officers were called to the 1600 block of East Texas Street on reports of shooting.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was transported to Ochsner LSU Health by Bossier City Fire Department but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to Bossier City Press, the name of the man has yet to be released pending family notification.

This shooting is under investigation by the Bossier City Police Department.
