A 74-year-old woman was hit and killed by a motor vehicle in Marlboro, Vermont on Saturday, police said.

Authorities identified the victim as Constance J. Vrooman of Sharon Springs, New York.

At 11:03 a.m., police received several 911 calls reporting a pedestrian crash on VT-9 near the Hogback Mountain Scenic Overlook, according to a statement from the Vermont State Police.

The overlook, connected to the Hogback Mountain Country Store, is elevated 2,250 feet on Route 9, the website said.

Troopers responded to the scene, with the help of Deerfield Valley Rescue and Marlboro Fire Department, where a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado had hit the pedestrian, the statement said.
