Newly elected State Rep from the 9th Suffolk District, which covers Dorchester’s Polish Triangle, Newmarket, parts of Lower Roxbury, the South End, and Back Bay, including Copley Square, will be singing at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast.

Moran, who has been singing since he was seven years old at church, will be singing the Irish National Anthem. “It is a beautiful song, and I was thrilled to get the call from Senator Collins to ask me to do it,” said Moran. His singing expanded to learning guitar as a teenager, and he participated in choral groups in high school and college.

“In college, I spent a semester studying in Vienna while performing with a small ensemble. Over the past decade or so here in Boston, I’ve been a member of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, which is such a wonderful way to stay connected with music and my community.”

As a legislator for just nine months, this will be the first year Moran is participating in the Breakfast, although he’s been watching it for years.

” I was born into a large Irish Catholic family in Scranton, PA, and I’ve spent some time working in Ireland while rediscovering some of my family heritage. It’s sort of a dream come true to be able to participate in this Breakfast, and you can bet the Moran clan will be streaming the Breakfast live from PA! I also am proud to support Senator Collins in this effort as he has become such a good partner in public service,” added Moran.

Make sure to tune into the St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast on Sunday morning, starting at 9:30am and watch Moran perform live. Just one of the many surprises planned during this legendary event.

The event will be live-streamed on NECN, BNN and WROL Radio beginning at 9:30 a.m. Live TV broadcast will begin at 10 a.m. Caught In Southie will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage.
