    Monday 6/24

    Catch "The Harlottery," a horror burlesque show celebrating author Shirley Jackson and her short story, "The Lottery," at the Midway, 8pm-10:30pm.


    • Price: $10. 21+

    Tuesday 6/25

    Gear up for Independence Day by touring our own patriotic headquarters. The Old South Meeting House and Old State House are open for tours ($15 for both.)

    The Harvard Book Store hosts a talk between Jack Turban , author of "Free to Be: Understanding Kids & Gender Identity" and Schuyler Bailar, 7pm.

    • Bailar, who swam for Harvard College, became the first transgender athlete to compete in any sport on an NCAA Division I men's team.

    Wednesday 6/26

    Chris Brown is back in Boston playing at the TD Garden.

    The Boston Guitar Fest kicks off with a young virtuoso guitar competition at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, 7:30pm-9:30pm.

    Thursday 6/27

    Harvard Art Museums at Night returns with food from local vendors and music by DJ C-Zone, 5pm-9pm.

    Aeronaut Brewing Company hosts Harvard genetics professor Matthew Harris for "Science by the Pint," a talk about how evolution shapes you, 6:30pm-8pm.

    Friday 6/28

    Janet Jackson , the icon, the legend, the superstar, plays at the TD Garden.

    Candelight concerts hosts a tribute to Nirvana at Old South Church in Boston, 7pm-8:15pm.

    • Price: $25.

    Saturday 6/29

    All She Wrote Books hosts a book fair at Connexion in Somerville, 10am-2pm.

    • The book fair features drag story hour and queer performances.
    • Followed by, "The Gayest Scholastic Book Fair for Grown-Ups," an 18+ adults party, 8pm-10pm

    The two-day Boston Art and Music Festival returns to Franklin Park, 12pm.

    • Rapsody and BJ the Chicago Kid headline, with performances from Soca Cowboys, Lisa Bello and Butcher Brown.

    Now that the Celtics won't need the place for another few months, Justin Timberlake comes to the TD Garden for concerts Saturday and Sunday.

    Sunday 6/30

    Bachata by the River returns to Cambridge, 6pm-8:30pm.

    • Starts with a beginner lesson, 6pm-7pm, followed by a dance social.
    • This month's theme: tie dye and beach clothes.
