    Jayson Tatum contract details: Celtics star forward set to sign largest deal in NBA history

    Jayson Tatum is having an incredible year.

    Two weeks after doing his part to lead the Celtics to the 2024 NBA championship, the 26-year-old is set to sign a record-breaking five-year supermax contract extension to remain with the franchise long-term, TNT Sports' Chris Haynes reported Monday.

    While the move was expected, the news of Tatum's extension officially ensures Boston's championship core of Tatum, Finals MVP Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White will remain with the franchise through at least the 2025-26 season.

    Jayson Tatum contract details

    Tatum's contract is for five years and worth up to $314 million, per The Athletic's Shams Charania . That makes it the largest contract in NBA history, surpassing the extension signed by Brown last year.

    Tatum is eligible for a supermax deal after earning All-NBA First Team honors in each of the last three seasons.

    The deal will begin in the 2025-26 season with an estimated value of $54.1 million and keeps Tatum in Celtic green through at least the 2028-29 season, with a player option for the 2029-30 campaign.
