The Boston Red Sox were welcomed to LoanDepot Park by the Miami Marlins on Tuesday for the first over three matchups between the team, and Alex Cora's squad earned an 8-3 victory.

Boston's offense went off in this one. Rookie shortstop Ceddanne Rafaela (1-for-4) smashed a three-run home run in the fourth inning, and outfielder Jarren Duran (1-for-4) also crushed one out of the park to right field in the eighth, but his was a solo shot. Rafael Devers (2-for-5) also drove in two runs while Connor Wong (1-for-5) and Masataka Yoshida (3-for-5) both drove in one run each.

Starting pitcher Kutter Crawford has a great outing, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out seven batters over his six innings of work. Zack Kelly allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits in his inning out of the bullpen. Bailey Horn, in his second MLB appearance, took the last two innings, allowing just one hit.

This win gives Boston a 45-39 record overall and a 25-16 record on the road. The two teams will meet again for the middle game of the series on Wednesday night, and if the Red Sox earn another victory, they'll win the three-game set.
