Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers continued his monster season at the plate on Sunday afternoon by clubbing his 23rd home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning of their 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals.

It was not only a thunderous 423-foot home run down the right field line, he hit it with such force that it actually broke the seat that it hit at Fenway Park.

That prompted the Red Sox to post an incident report, along with a picture of the damaged seat.

Here is a look at the home run itself that clocked in with a 114 mph exit velocity off the bat.

Expectations were relatively low for the Red Sox coming into this season, but they go into the All-Star break with a 53-42 record and occupy the third wild-card spot in the American League. Devers is a big part of that success with 23 home runs and a .977 OPS after his big game on Sunday.
