Red Sox CBO seems to be leaning in one specific direction ahead of the MLB trade deadline

The Boston Red Sox took two out of three from the Kansas Royals this past weekend to head into the All-Star break 11 games over .500.

With the MLB trade deadline fast approaching everyone has looked at Boston and wondered what they'll do in the coming weeks.

Appearing on NESN over the weekend, Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow seemed to indicate that the team is putting them in a position to choose a specific direction.

"Well, I think we have to start with crediting the players on the field, the staff," Breslow said ( transcribed by The Boston Globe's Alex Speier ). "But, yeah, I think this team has put themselves in a position where we have to take them seriously. The job that they have to do is win as many games as possible, and they're doing that, and they'll continue to do that is my hope, is my expectation, and we need to be thinking about opportunities for us to improve the club."

To this point, Breslow has been cautious with his words not to declare one way or another. And, while this still isn't a guarantee that the Red Sox will make a move, it's at least an admittance that they should.
