Jaylen Brown appeared to share a strong opinion on Bronny James at the Las Vegas Summer League.

With the Celtics taking on the Lakers at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center, the NBA Finals MVP was seated courtside with girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick and Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese. During a pause in the action, cameras caught Brown speaking about James with Gondrezick and Reese, causing lip readers to decipher what he may have said.

What did Brown say about James? Here is what the Celtics star appears to have said about the rookie and son of LeBron James.

What did Jaylen Brown say about Bronny James?

It has not been verified but Brown seems to have commented on James' prospect as a player in the NBA.

"I don't think Bronny is a pro," lip readers have deciphered. After Gondrezick appears to suggest that James would spend most of his time with the Lakers' G League affiliate, Brown countered by saying " I don't think so, I think because of his name he's going to be on the Lakers."

As the video began to spread on social media, a parody account on X (formerly Twitter) titled BricksCenter shared the video along with Brown's quote, prompting a response from the 27-year-old.

"It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the (NBA) it reflects greatness and longevity!" Brown posted . "Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth."

While Brown attempted to clarify that he believes it's a major achievement for LeBron and Bronny James to be the NBA's first-ever father-son duo, the damage from the lip reading of his apparent comments had already been done.

In the game Brown attended, James was limited to two points on 1-of-5 shooting, marking a continuation of offensive struggles during his first taste of NBA action. And while James signed a four-year, $7.9 million with the Lakers, he is expected to spend the majority of his rookie season with the South Bay Lakers, the franchise's G League affiliate.

As for Brown, the saga around the alleged comments on James continues a busy week on social media.

Since Celtics teammate Derrick White was chosen as an injury replacement over Brown, he has been vocal about being left off Team USA. Brown has gone as far as suggesting that he was passed over due to criticisms of Nike in the past as the brand is one of USA Basketball's chief partners.

When speaking with the media at the summer league game, Brown said he was "super fired up" after missing out on a Team USA selection, reiterated that he felt Nike had an influence on the decision but made sure to clarify that he congratulated White before anything else.

Much like his supposed comments on James, however, the damage from his response may have already been done.
