Red Sox first-round pick explains what team is getting in him

While the MLB players are enjoying the All-Star break, all 30 teams are adding talented, young players to their farm systems through the 2024 MLB draft.

On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox drafted Texas A&M outfielder Braden Mongtomery with the 12th pick in the first round, giving them another talented bat among their top prospects.

After his selection, Montgomery explained exactly what the Red Sox would be getting by drafting him.

“They’re getting a winner who impacts everyone around them,” Montgomery said (via. MassLive ). “I like to be loud, high energy and good vibes. ... Like I said, I’m a winner. I’m going to create a winning culture wherever I’m at. That’s the goal.”

That's exactly the type of attitude that Boston is looking for, and it's probably a reason they took him with their first pick.

In 187 collegiate games, the switch-hitter hit .327 with a 1.073 OPS, 62 home runs, 203 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. That type of production doesn't hurt either.
