Red Sox manager Alex Cora clears up worry about Triston Casas' health

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora cleared any confusion over star first baseman Triston Casas’ health today saying he’s all good, according to The Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham .

"Sometimes I read stuff and I'm like, ‘Are we in the same page here?’” said Cora, talking about Casas’ update to reporters. “That one caught me off guard. We had a good conversation with Triston. He's fine."

This confusion and worry all comes from an interview Casas did after one of his rehab games with the Triple A affiliate, the Worcester Red Sox. Casas said when he swung the bat originally, it felt like he was being shot. Now, it only feels like he’s getting stabbed.

Cora went on to talk about Casas’ analogies, how they can be taken the wrong way, and how they told Casas to use better analogies. “It’s all fun and games, right? But to a certain point, like when I get messages from people [asking] are you guys taking care of this kid? I think we’re doing everything the right way. So we talked to him and hopefully that’s the end of gunshots and knives."

The Sox play their next game tomorrow against the Kansas City Royals at 8:10pm EST.
