ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst just said that he thought the Boston Celtics could win the gold medal at the Olympics this year. This came after a discussion of whether the NBA Finals winner should be considered world champions.

“Does Noah Lyles regard himself the world champion because he won the Olympics?  Because if he does, then the US is the (world) champion because they’ve won the last four,” said Windhorst. Lyles was in the conversation because he was the one who brought up the point that the NBA Finals winner should not be called world champion.

“If the Boston Celtics were in this [Olympic] tournament, I think they'd have a very good chance to win it.” The Celtics, who were 68-14 in the regular season and 16-3 in the playoffs, would definitely be one of the best teams to play in the Olympics.

Windhorst ended it by saying he would not back down from calling the Celtics world champions because he truly believes they could win the Olympics.
