The Boston Celtics had one of the best seasons in the history of the NBA.

The team looked nearly unstoppable throughout the Playoffs, dropping just three of 19 games.

The Celtics were never taken to a game six in this year's Playoffs, appearing head and shoulders better than their opponent in all four series.

One question that has started to circulate is how well this team could have done on the Olympic stage. Team USA has three members of the Celtics on its roster, but what if Team USA had sent Boston to attempt to win a gold medal?

ESPN's Brian Windhorst is among those who believe that Boston could have captured gold in Paris this summer.

A NESN article written by Tim Crowley included a quote Windhorst made in a recent appearance on NBA Today.

"If the Boston Celtics were in this (Olympic) tournament, I think they'd have a very good chance to win it," Windhorst said. "Obviously, they'd be pulling some players off of Team USA. The Boston Celtics coming together, considering what they do, I think they'd have a great chance to win it. I'm not going to back down from the Celtics calling themselves world champs. I don't think they should either."

Jayson Tatum has started two games for Team USA after not seeing the court in its Olympic opener.

Jrue Holiday has had two productive starts in the Olympics, one solid bench performance and missed one outing due to a leg injury.

Derrick White has been productive as a starter and provided valuable depth during the tournament.

If the Celtics had the opportunity to compete on the global stage, it is likely that they would at least have a chance of winning.
