"Scooby-Doo" and "Five Nights at Freddy's" star Matthew Lillard is once again rolling the dice with his "Dungeons and Dragons"-themed spirits brand — this time, in the form of a spellbinding straight bourbon whiskey blend. Last week, Quest's End Whiskey announced the upcoming launch of its Warlock expression, the fourth character class-inspired bottling from the brand and its fifth release overall. Bottled at 103.6 proof, the blend of Kentucky and Indiana bourbons is designed as an ode to Heartless Haig Tanaris, a fictional pirate whose tale will surface in the next chapter of "Dawn of the Unbound Gods," the brand's in-house fantasy saga. The four-year-old bourbon incorporates nautical influences in more ways than one. According to the brand, its palate boasts notes of citrus and tropical fruit ("important for avoiding scurvy"), savory oak ("nodding to the wood of the ship") alongside brininess and spice ("to reflect a life of maritime trading"). If you're hankering for a splash of enchanted piracy, a limited run of Warlock will go on sale this Thursday at
$149.99 . Since its inception, the brand has envisioned itself as a one-stop-shop for fantasy enthusiasts, rolling out a line of books and artwork exploring the lore behind its whiskey's eponymous influences. Its core range of straight bourbon blends includes the Paladin, Rogue and Dragon, each a nod to a different character class or mythical creature within the expansive D&D mythology. The brand's catalog was recently expanded courtesy of a collaboration with
Critical Role , a popular D&D-centric YouTube streaming series; dubbed the Sandkheg's Hide , the bourbon paid homage to the bile of an 8-foot-tall insect-like creature called — expectedly — the Sandkheg.
