TOP college football coach Deion Sanders has been told he needs to keep his players in check after outspoken comments from one of his stars.

Cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter spoke out about the Colorado Buffaloes – where Sanders is the head coach – while playing the beta version of the EA Sports College Football 25 game.

When asked whether the the O Line was realistic, Hunter was surprisingly candid.

“Yes very realistic. They can’t block for nothing,” he said.

Fans pounced on those comments on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

“Deion needs to get his players in check,” one fan said.

“Seems like a great culture!” another fan posted.

“This is why they went 4-8, Deion has built a roster of entitled dudes who point the finger at others,” a third fan commented.

“Not sure players should be saying stuff like this,” a fourth fan said.

Sanders, known as “Coach Prime”, is a true sporting great, having starred in both the NFL and MLB .

He is the only athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.

But 2023 won’t go down as a vintage year in his sporting life, with Colorado recording that highly disappointing 4-8 record.

Shedeur Sanders, son of Deoin and quarterback with the Buffaloes, pointed out that Hunter was referring to the team of 2023.

That said, this may not be a good sign for morale at Colorado.

Sanders, who also played the EA game, was sacked 52 times last year as the Buffaloes struggled through their campaign.

Deion knows how frustrated Colorado fans were during the season, especially after they started 3-0.

Indeed, he apologized to them after a 34-31 defeat to Arizona late in the campaign.

“They’ve been supporting the heck out of us and they’ve been showing up and showing out,” Sanders said.

“There was another sellout crowd here that ended in disappointment.

“We’re so close. It’s what I told the team. But yet so far.

“We just simply, truly don’t know how to win yet.”

The Buffaloes start their 2024 season against North Dakota State next month.
