DENVER ( KDVR ) — Boulder police officers are investigating a suspicious death after finding a woman’s body on Sunday evening.

According to the Boulder Police Department, officers were initially called to the 1800 block of Goss Street just after 5 p.m. for an “unusual bike trailer” that had been at the location for several days.

When officers investigated further, the police department said they found a woman’s body “wrapped in multiple layers on the bike trailer.” It’s unclear what she was wrapped in, or what made the bike trailer unusual.

Detectives believe the victim was unhoused and identified her Tuesday with help from the Boulder Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Team, crime analysts and detectives.

Detectives are currently in the process of speaking to multiple potential witnesses. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is investigating the woman’s death to determine the cause and manner of her death, in addition to notifying her next of kin.

Anyone with information about this ongoing investigation is asked to contact Detective Byars at byarsS@bouldercolorado.gov or 303-441-1970. The case number to reference is 24-6910.
