The University of Colorado Ski Team visited the White House on Monday, July 22nd, 2024 to celebrate their 2024 NCAA Skiing Championship.

The team of 20 athletes and seven coaches joined a slew of NCAA championship teams as part of College Champions Day.

CU nordic skier Magnus Boee was selected to stand behind current Vice President, and 2024 presidential nominee Kamala Harris, in her first public appearance since receiving President Joe Biden's endorsement this past weekend. See below.

Boee commented on representing the University of Colorado-Boulder Ski Team at the White House: "It was pretty cool to talk with other athletes," he said.

"I spoke with some of the people who work at the White House. It was fun to be a part of the magnitude, we had to line up perfectly, there was no messing around. At first I didn't think about where I was standing, then I saw the podium just to the right of me, I was thinking I may be in the frame. I was just thinking 'let's keep this setup,' because they were moving people around. I got a message from my dad and from a lot of people I haven't talked to in a long time who saw me on CNN."

The University of Colorado secured the 2024 NCCA Skiing Championship thanks to stellar performances from Magdalena Luczak, Filip Wahlqvist, and Magnus Boee.

All three athletes took first place in their respective disciplines during the Championship weekend held back in early March. Events were hosted at Howelsen Hill and Steamboat Ski Resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Boee's first place in the 20k classic race helped CU edge out rival University of Utah in the overall points standings on the last day of competition. It marked CU's first overall ski team championship in nine years, and was Boee's third individual championship.
