Paul Finebaum Makes Bold Claim That Deion Sanders Is Not A Head Coach

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes face a critical season ahead. The team started strong at 3-0 last season but then suffered eight losses in their last nine games, leading to criticism.
Opinions on Sanders as a head coach are divided, with some believing he may exceed expectations this season. According to ESPN's Paul Finebaum, Sanders could potentially be a strong candidate to replace Lincoln Riley at USC.
Dan Patrick asked the SEC Network Analyst about that opinion. Finebaum said he doesn't think Sanders is really a coach but would bring a ton of energy to the town.
"Deion is not really a coach," Finebaum said. "He's a producer. They bring Spielberg into the movie, he fixes it up, gets a lot of special effects, that's what he does. My argument a couple of weeks ago is you bring him into L.A.; the town is on fire just like it was for about a minute under Lincoln Riley."
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders speaks to the media during the Big 12 Media Days at Allegiant Stadium.
Finebaum said Sanders is a dynamic figure who would bring energy back to the city and the program. His presence would bring an excitement level that should also attract players to Los Angeles.
Ultimately, Finebaum believes Sanders could be a fit at USC if the Trojans were to move on from Riley. Patrick scoffed at that notion and said Sanders has a lot to prove still.
That makes this season even more important for Sanders and Colorado.
